Congers- Police said that a 30-year-old man and four teenagers jumped a 21-year-old man walking along Old Haverstraw Road, beat him and then stole his cash before driving off in a red Mustang convertible.
Police then arrested all five based partially on the description of the car and because one officer knew of two of the teenagers and saw the vehicle before the reported strong-arm robbery occurred on Monday, Sgt. Harry Baumann said.
Arrested were Clinton Anderson, 30, Lorenzo Thorpe, 18, and Marc Horowitz, 17. Police charged each one with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
