A man who struck a "Karate Kid" pose to prove his sobriety was arrested on a drunk-driving charge after he needed a police officer to keep from falling to the ground, police said.
Luis Interiano, 40, was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Police said Interiano was stopped Sunday at Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue when he was driving without his headlights on.
When the police officer asked him for his driver's license, he smiled and said "No," according to the police report.
Police said Interiano smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet and slurred his speech. Interiano said that he only had one beer. He was unable to complete a field sobriety test. The report said, Interiano raised his arms and one foot in "the Karate Kid stance," then said, "See, I'm good," but as he spoke, Interiano fell against a wall and had to be held up by the police officer.
At Police Headquarters, he refused a blood-alcohol test, saying, "No, I just want my car," police said.
