Lynbrook Man Arrested for Hit & Run DWI

New York State Police say that a man allegedly driving while intoxicated crashed into a car and then fled the scene on the Southern State Parkway on Wednesday morning.
Anthony Avella rear-ended another vehicle then left the scene near Corona Avenue, police said. The suspect was apprehended later and failed sobriety tests.
Avella was then charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, driving while intoxicated, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and other trafficviolations.
