Suspects Arrested For Restaurant Fire, Burglary

Nassau County Police say that two men were arrested for breaking into, stealing and setting fire inside a restaurant in East Meadow.

John Orlando, 59, entered the Johnny 5 Bar & Grill located on Hempstead Turnpike after he allegedly broke a window. Police said he then set several small fires and then destroyed the restaurant. James Byrne, 41, who is homeless, was also arrested for entering the restaurant and stealing a bottle of liquor.

Orlando will be arraigned on Friday.  He was charged with arson and burglary.  Byrne was charged with burglary and arraigned on Thursday.
