Nassau County police said that two security guards have been accused of beating two men and shooting one man.
Joffre Viteri, 44, was walking a patron out of Romelia Sabor (a Latino Seaford Restaurant on Union Avenue) at 4:00 am when an argument escalated into a fight. Police said Viteri then struck the 28-year-old victim with a baton, injuring his head, when a 36-year-old man intervened who was then pepper-sprayed by Viteri. Police said that another security guard, 52-year-old Robert Giscombe went outside to help Viteri when Giscombe fired one round which stuck the 36-year-old victim in the upper left leg.
Both victims were taken to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment.
Viteri and Giscombe were charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Giscombe was additionally charged with criminal use of a firearm and unlawful wearing of a body vest.
