Man Accused of Using ATM Skimming Device at ATM

Rye Brook - A Queens man was arrested for placing a credit /debit card skimming device in an ATM at Chase in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center, police said.

Razvan Apostol, 31, was arrested by Rye Brook police along with the assistance of the U.S. Secret Service and JPMorgan Chase corporate security, police said.

Apostol, a Romanian citizen in the U.S. legally was charged with criminal possession of forgery devices, a felony.

He is suspected of placing skimming devices on other occasions in August and at other Chase branches throughout the metropolitan area, police said.
