Katonah Girls Improving After Being Stabbed

Bedford - Police say that the two girls who were stabbed inside their Bedford home are in stable condition and improving.

Lisa Turkki, 39, was arrested outside the home at 85 Girdle Ridge Road - across the street from Martha Stewart's residence - by Bedford Police Officer Matthew Hawley, who responded to the home at 9:30 p.m. and found Maeve Kelly, 7, and Annabel Kelly, 9, on the kitchen floor.

"The children did speak to officers at the scene," said Lt. Jeffrey Dickan of the Bedford Police Department.  The East Syracuse woman now faces two counts of felony assault and is being held without bail at the Westchester County jail.

Police said Turkki (the sister of the girls' mother) was babysitting the children while their parents were at a concert at nearby Caramoor.

Criminal Defense in Westchester County for Violent Crimes: Domestic Violence, Assault, Robbery and Murder

Violent crimes against another person are very serious.  They often result in extensive terms of imprisonment and a lifetime criminal record. Defendants subjected to prosecution for these types of offenses must have a highly experienced, concerned and aggressive lawyer on their side.

Defending clients in the face of violent criminal charges is challenging.  With a tenacious and aggressive attorney, you can work to build a compelling case that challenges the prosecution's evidence and may result in a "not guilty" verdict. Westchester County criminal lawyer Robert Schuster is uniquely qualified to represent defendants in the face of violent crime charges. With experience as a former prosecutor, attorney Schuster understands both sides of the legal process: the defense and the prosecution. He can use this multi-faceted experience to anticipate the District Attorney's next move and provide more effective legal counsel.
